Vehicle Description
This is a very rare 1957 Buick Century Convertible, of the 405,098 cars built by Buick in 1957 only 4,084 Century Convertibles were produced. This car was built in Framingham, Massachusetts at the former GM Plant that is now the location of Adesa Boston. This car has been in our family for about 21 years. It has the 364 Nail Head Engine with 75K original miles When we bought this Century it was in original unrestored condition, it was a very solid car with no major rust issues, only small patches were needed in back seat area. Over 7 years this Buick received a full ground up restoration, the paint, interior, and Top are the correct colors it left the Factory with. The body was completely stripped to bare metal and finished in Base coat Clear coat, all the stainless trim was straightened and polished and all the pot metal and chrome was professionally redone and is beautiful. The interior was completely restored, the Steering wheel was recast, all the chrome on the dash and steering wheel was done and the stainless on the dash was polished, the Red Line Speedometer was sent out, rebuilt and works correctly. The seats were restored with the correct Vinyl and leather and the original seat patterns were duplicated and the carpets were correctly replaced. The Convertible Top assembly was completely rebuilt and painted, the Chrome arms and latches were also done. The engine and transmission were rebuilt and detailed, the Torque Tube was cleaned and sprayed with POR-15 as was the Frame and the Underside was painted. Everything was rebuilt, like the Vacuum Wipers and Generator and an Original Battery was ordered, the only thing different than the factory intended is the exhaust tips were bent downward instead of through the bumper ends, but the heat shields are in place. |
