Stk. 1460 - 1971 Chevrolet El Camino
There are not too many El Caminos that have received a complete frame off restoration and this Viper Red beauty is a great example of excellent workmanship combined with quality components to produce an eye catching show car. Built on the Chevelle chassis this bad boy boasts the big block Chevy 454 CID (7.4L) power plant that produces 365 HP of pure muscle. Combine this with the 700R4 Turbo HydraMatic, a 9" Ford rear end with 350 posi-traction gearing and rubber will burn when the pedal is to the metal. The exterior, as well as engine compartment and underbody, features a very high quality multi-coat paint with clear coat to a mirror-shine appearance. 1971 featured a new front end with the introduction of 7" headlights, bars and stripes grill, integral wrap around front driving and signal lights and rear marker and stop lights. Customization includes a large hood cowl and emblems and minor brightwork removed, 18" Chrome 5-star wheels with low profile tires and dual chrome side exhausts - all work together to produce a clean show car appearance. Drop the tail gate and you'll find the bed floor and lining as if they just came from the factory - smooth and free of any of the dings and dents. The underside sheet metal and frame shows the same attention to detail you would expect in a show car. Jet Hot coated long tube headers with stainless exhaust system and chromed transmission cover. All stainless fasteners were used throughout in this restoration. The engine is fitted with Carbon Fiber valve covers and air cleaner, ceramic coated headers, electric cooling fan, chrome accessory belt drive and radiator cover. Saving the best for last, the interior features custom red and black leather wrapped bucket seating with matching hand stitched leather steering wheel and custom covered dashboard. Door panels have also been treated with a custom red and black leather trim design. The original dash has been up-fitted with custom Auto Meter gauges, AM/FM Stereo and CD Player. This classic muscle car is optioned with power steering and brakes, front disk brakes, tilt wheel, power driver's seat and hidden kill switch.
