3/4 ton ~ 4X4 ~ NO ECM!!!
We have a 1975 Chevrolet Suburban K2500 with the original 400 cid V8, three speed automatic transmission, 3/4 ton axles and full-time four wheel drive transfer case. This vehicle was purchased new in August 1975 at Courtesy Chevrolet, the second owner purchased it in January 1982 and has owned it since; there are 173,829 original miles on this truck. This is a pretty basic SUV, there are no power windows or door locks or such; it is equipped with dual air conditioning, however it's been years since it worked.
The front bench and second split-row seats are still here and the upholstery is in fairly decent condition, but the third row is missing. The body is pretty straight with the exception of the passenger's doors and some minor surface rust, also, there is no front bumper, but there is a 2" receiver hitch. The tires are brand new, like less than 100 miles new- NO joke! And this Suburban just passed emissions in December!
Now, what do you do with a truck like this?!? You leave it just like it is and go hunting and fishing, you lift it 8", cut the top off and start giving desert tours or???
Your modification options and opportunities are virtually endless. The full time 4X4 transfer case means the emissions station can only "sniff" the exhaust at idle- no dyno test! That means you can install a Corvette LT4 engine, make it a two wheel drive low-rider~ whatever you want- the sky's the limit!
Or, you just leave it alone. What's wrong with a turn-key, 3/4 ton 4X4 for just $2495- ???
