Vehicle Description
Here's an opportunity that doesn't come by too often.
We are offering a 1978 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC two door coupe and of course it's absolutely loaded. There's leather seating, air conditioning and all of the power accessories: there's a power sunroof, windows, door locks and antenna. This car is all original; the spoke wheels are here, the original BECKER "Mexico" radio is here, the clock works, the original driving lights work ~ the original gas cap is still on the vehicle, the lighter has never been used!!!
The radio works, the windows, locks and sunroof all work, it starts on the first try everytime, the body is perfectly straight and rust free; the interior it just beautiful, the leather is flawless and the wood dash/trim is just about pristine.
Now the drawbacks: the engine smokes once it warms up, we're not quite sure why but it does- therefore this vehicle is NOT emissions compliant, the a/c system is original and complete, but it does not function, additionally, the paint is beginning to peel a bit on the roof. Finally, the odometer does not work (but the speedometer does); it's currently showing 93,873 miles, and the title matches.
This classic has a lot of potential, a "diamond in the rough" if you will~ It's better and nicer than that, but it obviously needs some work.
