Vehicle Description
1987 Monte Carlo SS, original mileage on body is 48,000. The original engine has been removed and in its place is an American Speed Enterprises, inc. 525 hp 383 Chevy Enforcer. The engine is 9.5:1 Compression ratio. The AFR 190 stage II aluminum cylinder heads have been gasket matched to the Edelbrock Air Gap manifold. Fuel is fed from a Mallory comp 140 pump and a Holley750. Comp cams CS3315/3317-`112 hydraulic roller cam into Hooker Super comp headers, full 2 1/2 exhaust into Flowmasters and twin 2 1/2 outlets .The engine produced 528.6 Horsepower at 5900 RPM, and a peak torque of 526@5000 rpm, with over 400 ft/lbs from 2500 on! The factory A/C and power steering are functioning as original. The trans is a 700r4 4 speed automatic with new high friction clutches and bands,performance shift kit and a 2500 rpm torque convertor, trans cooler and a gauge inside to monitor trans temps. The rear end is a Ford 9" Currie housing with a Detroit-Locker and a 3.55 gear. Hotchkis upper and lower control arms in rear, with an air bag on right rear and adjustable shocks. There is about 6,000 miles on the drivetrain. The body is in overall very good condition, showing its being garage kept since it was a new car. The interior is in beautiful condition, with matching floor mats embroidered with the SS logo. The tires are BfGoodrich all the way around, with drag radial on the back and comp T/A on the front. Goes down the road straight , hooks up and pulls hard! This car is a ball to drive, you will not be disappointed!
