Vehicle Description
Yes, that's right, manual transmission: 4-on-the-floor, big schoolbus-style shifter next to the chair. This is it, the last one with the trifecta of manual transmission, slant-6 engine and short wheel base chassis (110" aka "Shorty"). There just aren't anymore like this one. Very well maintained, runs great, clean interior, non-smoker, low mileage. Newer things (in about the last 20K mi): wheels & tires, clutch, brakes & brake lines, EGR line, cat converters (both), carb rebuild, manifolds (intake and exhaust), radiator, battery, alternator & voltage regulator, shocks & springs. Also has Class II trailer hitch.
Interior has carpeting throughout, headliner and wood paneling. Bay windows in the rear have sliding panels with screens. Jack-knife couch has three lap belts which drop through to the floor when folded down as a bed. Excellent day-tripper/weekend camper.
Please note, this van is a MACHINE, not a COMPUTER. It DOES NOT HAVE electronic solenoid-controlled motors to open and close the vents, windows, or door locks for you - or to break and leave you unable to operate any of those things. Is that good or bad? Your call, but here's a reality check: power window motor, $60; manual window handle, $7. Personally, I rather like real knobs, switches and levers that I can push, pull and turn. Also note that this van does not have a/c, but it can be added if you really like the van but a/c is a must-have. It does have the big old-fashioned ram-air vents (the faster you go, the more they blow!)
