The 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS is from the stylish model's first generation that combined the luxe comfort of a sedan with the sporty silhouette of a coupe. It featured two trims, the CLS550 and the high-performance CLS63 AMG. The CLS550 came equipped with a 5.5-liter V8 engine, producing 382 horsepower, linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The CLS63 AMG boasted a handcrafted 6.2-liter V8, delivering a whopping 507 horsepower, managed by a seven-speed AMG Speedshift transmission. Key safety features included stability control, antilock brakes, front-seat side airbags, full-length curtain-type airbags, and the Mercedes-Benz's PreSafe system, which could sense an imminent crash and automatically tighten the front seatbelts and initiate partial braking. Infotainment included a COMAND system with an 8-inch display, navigation, Harman Kardon audio system and satellite radio integration.
