The 2015 Dodge Charger looks completely different from last year as almost the entire exterior received a refreshed look. The result has us salivating over it more than a watering hole in the desert. The appeal is more than skin deep as under the hood you’ll find a Pentastar 3.6L 292-horsepower engine. Despite the near-300 ponies, the fuel economy on the Charger is into the 30’s for highway driving. The Charger gives you many options in terms of engine type ranging from the base 292HP V6, all the way up to the 707 horsepower SRT Hellcat with a 6.2L V8 Hemi engine.
Despite the enormously large engine inside the Charger, it is still a family sized sedan that comes in many options. Besides the nine trim options to choose from, buyer must pick between 19 interior configurations. There are many technology upgrades available in the Charger as well. A 5 inch touchscreen display can be swapped out for a massive 8.4in infotainment deck that controls many aspects of the vehicle including the seats and steering wheel.

The 2015 Chrysler 300 is an affordable full-sized luxury sedan that also received a face lift for 2015 including the new front grill. This is easily one of the most spacious and comfortable vehicles in its class. The engine specs may seem similar to the Charger, as the same Pentastar 3.6L 292-horsepower engine was used in both vehicles. Rather than the sporty sedan feel, the 300 has a more elegant and regal feel to it. There are several drivetrain options depending on if you’d like all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. The supped-up version of the 300 comes with a 6.4L, V8 engine that boasts 392 horsepower.
The similarity in technology doesn’t stop with just the engine as inside you’ll find some familiar traits as well. However, this is a luxury vehicle so the 8.4in touchscreen display available in an upgraded Charger, comes standard in all Chrysler 300 trim packages. Additional available features include the Chrysler SafetyTec Safety and Security package. Choosing the right Chrysler 300 for you will be tough given there are 14 trim options to choose from depending on drivetrain and the level of luxury you want. Typically we are not a fan of wood grain on any part of a vehicle, but the 300C Platinum with cream leather interior and wood grain dash just screams classiness.

It was hard to compare these two as the core specs are very similar. It’s the forever debatable sporty versus luxury. Given that these two are both full-sized sedans, we gave the advantage to the 300 based on overall comfort and the amount of room for each of the five passengers. The 300 has eight-way power seats that even include four-way lumbar adjustment. This makes those long drives seem like a walk in the park.
Upgrades: Dodge Charger
Although the Chrysler 300 SRT isn’t something to simply overlook, it’s hard to find a more superior full-sized sedan than the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. However, it’s not just that one trim package that catches our eye as the newly re-styled 2015 Charger is an impressive vehicle all around. If this is your family vehicle, we would like to be considered part of your family. Your children should never gripe about being dropped off in front of school when their friends are around after they get one look at this beast.

Well, if you couldn’t tell by now, the odd-on favorite for this matchup is the Dodge Charger. While you have comfort and style from the 300, the Charger gives drivers a better overall package with superior handling at a lower price point. Given the choices that Dodge offers in terms of customization of the Charger, if you aren’t already in love with it immediately, you can alter it to fit your style.
