5. "49553" – Designates it was the 9,553rd 2wd ½ ton truck to roll out of the Pontiac plant. 1st role out was F40001.

History:
• Original purchase location and history generally unknown but believed to have been a long-time farm truck in Montana or another dry climate location up until 2011.
• The truck was purchased in 2011 in Great Falls by a local car enthusiast for $600. The truck was in its original condition – including paint, interior, engine, transmission, wood bed, etc. The only rust at the point was in the front fenders. 98,xxx original miles. He purchased the truck to ‘build, show, and have to fun.’

o The truck was originally GM ‘Light Blue’ (Code WE5120) with GM ‘White’ (Code WE511) cab top, grille, and front bumper. Heavy duty steel rear bumper. Wood bed.


Restoration work commenced in 2011 with completion in 2012. Work included:

o Fresh paint and body work throughout, including the frame:

? Body and interior cab – Ford ‘Grabber Blue’ (Code: J - 1970) Enamel – Steve’s Repair – Great Falls, MT

? Frame – Black
? Engine Block – Chevy Orange Engine Enamel
? Custom pinstriping – Dennis Signs – Great Falls, MT
? Chrome front and rear bumpers – Rez Engineering – Great Falls, MT
? Suspension – ‘flipped’ rear leaf springs to lower the back and reduce the ‘rake’

o Mild mechanical repairs including fluids, seals, and hoses.
o Bench seat rebuilt and reupholstered – Chris’s Interior – Great Falls, MT
o Factory style wheels with baby moons – Painted and striped to match the truck
o New BF Goodrich Radial tires
o Custom Truxedo rollup bed cover

• Truck was later sold to a family friend before being purchased by another car enthusiast in Helena, MT in August 2018. Truck had approximately 108,xxx miles at the time of purchase. During this time, the owner added both personal and functional touches to the truck.
