It was designed by Pininfarina. The 458 Spider came standard with a 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine which produces 562 horsepower. It also came with a very smooth and responsive F1 dual-clutch transmission. The 458 Spider will get from 0-60 mph in about 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 198 mph - almost identical performance figures to the 458 Italia. The 458 Spider was the first mid-engined Ferrari convertible to use a folding metal roof. The previous generation's 360/430 used a fabric roof.
