Seller's Notes

1962 Porsche 356B Outlaw Coupe * VIN 118XXX * 1720cc Flat-Four Engine * 716 Transmission This 1962 Porsche 356B Coupe was converted to a race car by Emory Motorsports in the mid-2000s and was later again modified by Rod Emory in Outlaw style in 2012. It was acquired by the current owner in 2018 and has since been refurbished, including a repaint in Aqua Marine Blue and a reupholstered interior. The 356 is powered by a Porsche 1720cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. This 356 Outlaw retains the modifications performed by Emory Motorsports including a four-wheel disc brake conversion, a GT limited-slip differential, a 911 dual-circuit master cylinder, Lexan polycarbonate racing glass, 911R-style decklid hinges, 15″ aluminum wheels, a front sway bar, roll bar, four-spoke steering wheel, 1720cc engine and 716 transmission. It features a bumper-delete option and incorporates custom Emory elements. It includes a unique front grill designed for the forward-mounted oil cooler, front air scoops for optimal brake cooling, and a center gas fill through the front bonnet. During the recent restoration the front leather hood straps, front turn signals, rear polycarbonate window, and Raydot side mirrors were removed but these original parts come with the sale of the car. The restoration performed by Emory Motorsports is fully documented. Finished in a beautiful combination of Aquamarine Blue with Blue upholstery. This exterior has undergone a complete bare metal respray and is in pristine condition. The interior has been completely reupholstered, featuring Speedster seats trimmed in Blue leather with Tan corduroy inserts. A body-color roll bar is fitted in place of the rear seats, and tan German square-weave carpets have been installed with black GT vinyl thresholds. Additional highlights include a 4-spoke leather-wrapped Moto-Lita steering wheel with an outlaw button, GT-style door pulls, leather window pulls, and custom racing gauges. The 5.5 x 15 964 Space Saver rims are painted silver and mounted with BF Goodrich Advantage T/A 205 60 15 tires. The undercarriage is in excellent condition throughout, with no rust, and is fully detailed along with all the suspension components. In 2008, Emory Motorsports was commissioned to execute a bare metal restoration to build a custom 356 racecar. The chassis was disassembled and subjected to media blasting, unveiling the bare metal. The 356 underwent meticulous metal finishing and enhancements, including incorporating front scoops and a front vented grill. At this point, a complete roll cage was fabricated and painted to match the 356s body color. Additional racing enhancements included a disc brake conversion, a 911 dual-circuit master cylinder, Sparco racing seatbelts, Lexan polycarbonate racing glass, Raydot mirrors, 911R-style decklid hinges, A038 race tires, and a GT limited-slip differential. In 2011, the owner returned the 356 to Rod Emory and opted for a street conversion which included significant modifications to the 356's body, suspension, transmission, engine, and electrical systems. Key features of this conversion encompassed the rebuild of the transmission utilizing BBBC gearing, an engine upgrade with a 1720 big bore kit, and the installation of front and rear glass windows. Furthermore, in 2014, the owner acquired fiberglass BigBoy Speedster seat shells along with GT Speedster alloy seat frames from Fibersteel. In 2018 this Emory Outlaw was purchased by the current owner. After several years of pure enjoyment, the owner decided it was time for a complete restoration. In 2022-2024, European Collectibles undertook a comprehensive bare metal restoration and refinished the vehicle in a striking Porsche color - Aquamarine Blue. The car's body was meticulously assembled. The driveline was removed, the suspension was repainted, and new Spax Krypton Gas shocks were installed. The engine's sheet metal was powder coated, the hardware was CAD pla
