This 2014 Ferrari 458 Challenge is a factory-built race car. The body is finished in black and white livery, and power is from a 4.5-liter V8 mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with an electronic differential. The 4.5-liter F136 V8 was rated at 562 horsepower at 9k rpm when new. Inspections were performed after track events under current ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with an electronic differential. The cockpit houses a roll cage as well as carbon fiber racing seats with Sabelt six-point harnesses. Other features include OMP Racing fire suppression equipment, window nets, a data race kit, a radio, a cool shirt system, and air conditioning. We purchased this vehicle from a collector in New York specifically for the novelty that it was legal for street use. It is the only known 458 Challenge that we know of that is street legal. The seller we bought it from is an avid car collector who told us he jumped through hoops and specifically litigation against Ferrari to make the modifications necessary to make this vehicle street legal. We don't know the details of how it was accomplished but it happened. All these vehicles are issued MCO but this one has title and can be registered like a normal vehicle. Therefore this vehicle has turn signals, handbrakes, headlights etc. that would come in a normal vehicle.
