There is nothing quite like a red Corvette, and this sharp-looking, matching number 1965 Corvette L76 Coupe is a perfect example of why these cars are perennial favorites. The C2 or Mid-Year Corvettes are at the top of any enthusiast's wish list. 1965 was the first year the Corvette was available with power 4-wheel disc brakes, making this car safer and more enjoyable to drive than previous models. This Corvette Coupe's sleek lines are enhanced by a set of factory style finned wheels with three-prong knock-off centers wrapped with Iron Man 215/70R15 whitewall tires. The black interior features factory full instrumentation, power windows, AM/FM/Cassette custom Corvette logo radio with CD, 8800 4-way base reflex speaker system in the rear and power antenna. An aftermarket air conditioning system adds to the comfort and pleasure of driving this classic Corvette. Rare L76 Corvette 4-speed Muncie M-20 manual transmission Matching number engine Air conditioning Factory style finned wheels with knock-off centers Upgraded Edelbrock carburetor Power 4-wheel disc brakes Power steering Power windows This Corvette is a matching number car equipped with the highly desirable L76 engine option paired with a Muncie M-20 4-speed manual transmission. The L76 was the second most powerful Corvette Stingray offered in 1965. From the factory, the package featured a 365 horsepower, 327 cubic inch engine with mechanical (solid) lifters, special high lift camshaft, 11:1 compression ratio, forged steel crankshaft, high rise aluminum manifold, 80-pound oil pressure gauge, 6500 rpm tachometer redline and special chrome engine appointments. The only other way to get these options was of course to buy a L84 fuel injected car. Due to the fact the Rochester fuel injection could be temperamental, many performance-oriented drivers preferred the carbureted L76. This car has power steering and has been fitted with aluminum Corvette logo finned valve covers, an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, chrome alternator and chrome open-element air cleaner to help it breathe. With a production total of just 5,011 L76 equipped 1965 Corvettes, very few survive today with the original engine, as these variants were often driven in competition, making this 1965 Corvette L76 Coupe at rare find.
