1973 Plymouth Scamp

Mopar ''A-bombs'' are hot right now, and here is a 1973 A-body Scamp with street savvy upgrades and an excellent appearance. Even before the new Duster arrived, the brand's standard two-door coupes, like this Scamp, were never offered in a performance edition. That has been changed here, as this redone Plymouth now sports a V-8 engine beneath its scooped hood, complete with a 4-barrel carburetor, Mopar cast valve covers, header pipes and air conditioning. This is a backed by an automatic transmission. The body wears purple paint with a white vinyl top and a matched white bucket-seat interior. Inside is wood-grain applique, round-face gauges, a Kansas City Chiefs speedometer, underdash air conditioning vents, an AM/FM/cassette radio and driver's remote mirror. Outside are the added scoops with 340 tags, dual chrome mirrors, a white rear Scat stripe, thin-line lower rocker trim, rear bumper guards and chrome exhaust tips. The wheels have black centers and wear BF Goodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. A car never offered this way when new, the overall presentation of this ''Super Scamp'' is clean and inviting!
