Price above a Pontiac and similar to Buick; the Oldsmobile brand of the 50s was all about trend setting and style. The Olds was the car of the person who was living good and had no qualms about showing it. The 98 model was the top-of-the-line nameplate and rode on a longer wheelbase with the associated bigger body. This 4-door sedan isn't the top model 4 door hardtop, but it's grand non the less. It's finished with a light blue roof over dark blue body, with fat white wall tires capped with dent free factory hubcaps. The chrome is very presentable with little pitting and all the trim is where it should be. The car does show its age with minor chips and a scuff on the right rear door, but no evidence of sever accidents or rust. The grey interior is in solid shape for a survivor car, with minor tears on the driver's seat back but generally only minimal wear that seem s appropriate for a car of its age. The big 324ci V8 is quick to fire up and hauls the big Olds around adequately. The factory automatic shifts quickly if - not smoothly - and the car drives like a venerable old trooper. This 1954 Oldsmobile 98 was equipped with power brakes and AM radio. The brakes work surprisingly well, but the radio is on hiatus. This big 98 Sedan deserves a restoration to bring it back to its former glory.
