1987 Cadillac Allante Overview

The 1987 Cadillac Allante was an attempt by General Motors to compete in the luxury roadster segment. This front-wheel-drive roadster came with a removable aluminum hardtop, and a 4.1L V8 engine that produced 170 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It featured an advanced (for its time) digital dashboard, and its body was designed and built in Italy by Pininfarina. Unfortunately, its high price combined with various performance and reliability issues failed to attract the intended market. Still, it remains a notable model in Cadillac's history for its distinctive styling and ambitious concept.
