1987 Mazda B-Series Overview

The 1987 Mazda B-Series represents the fifth generation of Mazda's compact pickup line. The series came in multiple model designations, including the B2000 and the more powerful B2200, and it was popular for its reliability and versatility. These models featured a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain paired with a 5-speed manual or optional 4-speed automatic transmission. Under the hood, the B2000 sported an 85-hp 2.0L inline 4-engine, while the B2200 came with a 2.2L engine that produced 85-96 horsepower. The B-Series also had a reputation for solid build quality and modest off-road capability, being a rugged, no-nonsense workhorse for many. However, amenities were sparse compared to modern vehicles, and safety features were basic.
