The 1992 BMW 3 Series is part of the beloved E36 generation that bolstered the model's reputation as a sports sedan benchmark. At this time, BMW offered the 3 Series in two trims: 325i and 318i, each available as either a 2-door coupe or 4-door sedan. Powering the 325i was a 2.5-liter inline-six engine delivering 189 horsepower, while the 318i housed a 1.8-liter inline-four producing 134 horsepower. Shared features on both models included anti-lock brakes, dual front airbags, and power windows and mirrors. Inside, drivers were met with a driver-focused cockpit typical of BMW design language, emphasizing both luxury and sportiness. The optional automatic transmission was a four-speed, but a five-speed manual was also available, allowing drivers to make the most of the rear-wheel-drive layout. Although not laden with today's technology, the 1992 3 Series did offer an AM/FM stereo with cassette player, cruise control, and air conditioning.
