The 1992 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD belongs to the first generation of the Silverado heavy duty lineup. It is a RWD full-size pickup truck with optional 4WD. Two engine options were available: a 5.7-liter V8 engine producing 255 horsepower and a 6.5-liter turbocharged diesel V8 delivering 180 horsepower. Both engines are mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Despite its age, it offers front airbags, anti-lock brakes and daytime running lights. On the inside, it featured an AM/FM radio and air conditioning, considered premium for its time. The 1992 model year witnessed some significant changes to the Silverado series such as revised exterior styling and improved aerodynamics, especially with the introduction of the new extended cab version.
