The 1992 Jeep Wrangler is an off-road icon. This year model is part of the Wrangler's YJ generation, which introduced a more comfortable ride and better handling than its predecessor, though it kept the classic boxy exterior. Equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder as standard with 122 horsepower, there was also an option for a 4.0-liter inline-six engine delivering 180 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, though a three-speed automatic was optional. Both engines were offered in both 2-door and a less common 4-door body styles. For the adventurous, a part-time four-wheel-drive system was standard, giving the ‘92 Wrangler excellent off-road capabilities. Despite its barebones interior, it had an optional removable hard top for versatility. While it lacked in modern infotainment technology, it more than made up for it with its rugged charm and off-roading prowess.
