The 1993 Ford Escort was part of the third-generation model line, manufactured between 1991 and 1996. In the 1993 model, the Escort came with two engine options: a 1.9 liter four-cylinder engine delivering 88 horsepower or a 1.8 liter DOHC four-cylinder engine delivering 127 horsepower. The later was available only on the GT trim. The Escort was available as a two-door hatchback, four-door sedan, or a wagon. The transmissions available were either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual. One notable feature of this model's year was the launch of Escort LX-E sedan.
