1993 Mercedes-Benz 190-Class Overview

The 1993 Mercedes-Benz 190-Class, being the last model year of the famed W201 series, represented the marque's entry-level luxury sedan offering during the early 90s era. Powered by a variety of 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engines across its lineup, the most robust option was the 190E 2.6 model, fitted with a 2.6L straight-six producing 158 horsepower. All models came standard with a 5-speed manual, while a 4-speed automatic was available as an option. The 190E 2.3-16 and the 190E 2.5-16 'Cosworth' derivatives, developed in partnership with Cosworth, represent the performance flagships of the range. Inside, occupants were met with a traditional cabin layout featuring a radio and climate control system. The model, being a Mercedes-Benz, was equipped with safety features which were advanced for its time such as front and rear crumple zones and an anti-lock braking system.
