The 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT, part of the first generation of the model’s run, is a standout example of Mitsubishi's commitment to cutting-edge technology during the early '90s. The 3000GT was offered as a front-wheel-drive sports car with the base and SL trims, while the VR-4 had an all-wheel-drive system. It came standard with a 5-speed manual transmission, although a 4-speed automatic was available. Engine choices ranged from a 222-hp, 3.0-liter V6 for the base and SL models, up to a 300-hp, twin-turbo V6 for the top-spec VR-4. A host of safety features matched the power under the hood: Standard dual front airbags, an innovation for its time, complemented features like the anti-lock braking system. Inside, there were a plethora of high-tech features like touch-screen climate controls and optional CD audio system.
