1995 Toyota Tacoma Overview

The 1995 Toyota Tacoma, part of the first-generation lineup, offered a robust and reliable choice among compact pickup trucks. The truck provided two engine options: a 2.7L 4-cylinder generating 142 hp and a meatier 3.4L V6 that cranked out 190 hp. The engines were mated to a standard 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 4-speed automatic. The Tacoma could be equipped either as a rear-wheel-drive or a four-wheel-drive vehicle, depending on the buyer's preference. There were three trims available: base, SR5, and Limited. The base was well-equipped for the price, but the SR5 offered more comfort features and the Limited provided a touch of luxury. The SCCA (Sports Car Club of America)-inspired PreRunner variant was also introduced in this year, with a lifted suspension and other off-road enhancements. No significant changes were made in the 1995 model year as this was the introduction year for Tacoma, a model that would become synonymous with reliability and longevity.
