The 1996 Chevrolet Camaro, part of the model's fourth generation, is a classic American sports car known for its performance and style. The model came in both coupe and convertible body styles, with trims that include the Base, RS, Z28, and the celebrated SS. Engine options ranged from a 200-hp 3.8L V6 for the base model to a 5.7L V8 producing up to 305-hp in the Z28 and SS variants. All models featured a standard 5-speed manual transmission, with an optional 4-speed automatic. This era of Camaro is also noted for its safety features, including standard dual airbags and anti-lock brakes. For the '96 model year, traction-control was standard on Z28 and SS trims. While the Camaro’s infotainment system may seem dated compared to today's standards, the model offered an AM/FM radio with a cassette player, and a CD player was optional. The SS trim notably offered a performance-enhancing package that included a forced-air induction system, a performance exhaust system, and 17-inch wheels.
