The 1996 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Series is part of the fourth and final generation of Chevrolet's full-size pickup truck line. Available as either a rear-wheel-drive or 4WD, this truck boasts three engine options: a 4.3-liter V6 with 200 horsepower, a 5.0-liter V8 with 230 horsepower, and a 5.7-liter V8 that delivers 255 horsepower; all paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Two trims were available: the base and upscale Silverado. Key safety features include optional anti-lock brakes. The 1996 C/K Series came without today's standard infotainment system, but radios and CD players were available options. Notably, the 1996 model year marked the arrival of the Vortec series of engines, which increased power and fuel efficiency.
