The 1996 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 is a strong and capable full-sized pickup hailing from the second generation Chevrolet C/K series. The Silverado 2500 provided a V8 or a turbocharged diesel V8 engine with horsepower ranging from 180 to 250. This combined with a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission provides plenty of power. Rear-wheel drive was standard, but a four-wheel-drive system was available as an option. Despite its workhorse nature, the interior was surprisingly comfortable for its time, with options for a CD stereo system. Its key safety feature is the anti-lock brake system. Unfortunately, this model predates the technology and safety features common in today's pickups, such as touchscreen infotainment and driver assist features.
