The 1996 GMC C/K 3500 Series is part of the third and final generation of these full-size pickup trucks. The powerhouse lineup offered various V8 engines, ranging from a 5.0-liter to a substantial 7.4-liter, producing horsepower numbers between 165 and 290. The engine is paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive was standard with four-wheel drive available as an option. This last-generation model was renowned for its robust capacities and old-school truck grit. Yet, it also featured amenities found in modern designs, including an AM/FM radio and air conditioning. Although lacking modern safety technologies, the GMC C/K 3500 held tough with standard four-wheel anti-lock brakes.
