1997 Dodge Ram Overview

The 1997 Dodge Ram represents the second generation of this full-size pickup truck, known for its bold, semi-truck inspired design. The truck was available in 1500, 2500, and 3500 trims, as well as regular cab, Club Cab or Quad Cab styles. Ram's engine options ranged from a 220-hp 5.2L V8, to a 230-hp Magnum 5.9L V8, and even a Cummins 5.9L turbo diesel engine. Equipped with either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission, the Ram offered both RWD and 4WD configurations. As for safety features, dual front airbags were standard. While lacking in modern infotainment features, the 1997 Ram was well-regarded for its power, durability, and design which endured over a decade.
