The 1997 GMC C/K 2500 Series is part of the fourth and final generation of this renowned full-size pickup truck series. The model offers a Regular, Crew, and Extended Cab. It features an impressive engine lineup from a base 5.0L V8 capable of 230 horsepower to variants which include a robust 7.4L V8 churning out 290 horsepower allowing for heavy payloads and towing. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, but selectable four-wheel-drive versions were offered improving its off-road and all-weather capabilities. The '97 model saw the introduction of passenger-side airbags to bolster safety, and other features such as anti-lock brakes and power steering were standard across the trims.
