1997 Nissan Truck Overview

The 1997 Nissan Truck, also known as the Hardbody or D21, was part of the sixth-generation pickup line from Nissan. Available in two trims: XE and SE, the truck came standard with a 2.4L inline-four engine producing 134 hp, mated to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0L V6, with 154 hp, was offered in the top-end SE models. The standard drivetrain was RWD, with an optional part-time 4WD system available. Key features included a compact design, a sliding rear window, and utilitarian vehicle dynamics. As a product of the 90s, it doesn't come equipped with the kind of infotainment and tech we see in today's vehicles. While the truck had basic safety systems according to the era's standards, the focus was more on utility and durability. This reliable workhorse still has a vibrant fan base, particularly among off-road enthusiasts.
