The 1998 Dodge Caravan is part of the vehicle's third generation. Standard models feature a 2.4L Inline-4 engine producing 150 horsepower, though a 3.0L V6 and a 3.3L V6 also available, offering 150 and 158 horsepower, respectively. The Caravan's top range model, the Grand Caravan, is equipped with a 3.8L V6 developing 180 horsepower. Various trims include Base, SE, LE and ES, and they can be equipped with either FWD or AWD. For this year, a new next-generation driver and front passenger air bags became standard. Notable tech for the time was the available remote keyless/illuminated entry system and an optional integrated child safety seat. Despite the limited infotainment technology due to its age, the 1998 Caravan was at the forefront of minivan design with its roomy interior, solid performance, and safety features.
