The 1998 Ford Ranger, part of the second generation pickup lineup, retained the compact design while improving in numerous other measures offering great value. Available in three trims including XL, XLT, and the high-end STX, the Ranger extended choices with regular cab and extended cab options. Although lacking by modern standards, the 1998 Ranger featured an AM/FM radio and a CD player for its infotainment setup. Safety features for that time also included anti-lock braking system (ABS) and optional passenger-side airbag with a unique deactivation feature for use with a child safety seat.
