The 1999 Ford Explorer is part of the SUV's second generation. Noted for its power, size and off-road capabilities, the 1999 Explorer came in seven trims, including XL, XLT, Eddie Bauer, and Limited. Engine options included a 4.0-liter V6 with either 160 or 210 horsepower, and a 5.0-liter V8 producing 215 horsepower, paired with either manual or automatic transmissions.
