The 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage is part of the fifth-generation series produced by Mitsubishi Motors. The compact car featured two body styles: a sedan and a coupe. Powering the Mirage were either a 1.5-liter or a 1.8-liter SOHC four-cylinder engine, producing 92 hp and 113 hp respectively, paired with a standard 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 4-speed automatic. Unlike the rally-inspired models in Mitsubishi's lineup, the Mirage was more sedate, aimed at budget-conscious consumers, offering decent performance and good fuel economy. Safety features included dual front airbags and optional ABS. The Mirage didn't have the high-tech infotainment system seen in today's cars but offered a simple AM/FM radio and cassette player. Despite its modest outfitting, the Mirage did its job quite well, providing reliable transportation at a reasonable cost.
