1999 Nissan Maxima Overview

The 1999 Nissan Maxima, part of this model's fourth generation, was celebrated for its fine blend of sport and luxury. Available in three trims – GXE, SE, and GLE –, the Maxima was designed as a front-wheel drive. All trims came with a sturdy 3.0L V6 engine, producing a commendable 190 to 200 horsepower, and could be configured with either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission. Notable features at the time include six-way power driver's seat, an available Bose audio system, and an optional electronic navigation system, a rarity in its class in the late '90s. Whilst lacking advanced safety tech of modern cars, it did come with essentials like dual-front airbags and ABS. The Maxima carved a niche for itself as an affordable sport-luxury sedan, known for backseat comfort and spacious trunk.
