2000 Honda Civic Overview

The Honda Civic 2000 model belongs to the sixth generation of the brand's prominent compact car series. Aimed at efficiency and economical performance, it came available in Coupe, Sedan, and Hatchback body styles and in DX, LX, EX and Si trims. Most versions carry a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with output ranging from 106 horsepower in DX and LX trims, up to 127 horsepower in the EX variant and peaking at 160 horsepower in the sporty Si model. All trims were mated to a standard 5-speed manual transmission, with an optional 4-speed automatic offered. This model also included dual front airbags, power steering, and tilt steering column, proving that safety and functionality were key selling points of the Civic range. Infotainment was basic by today's standards, emphasizing the car's no-nonsense philosophy during the time.
