2000 Porsche Boxster Overview

The 2000 Porsche Boxster belongs to the first generation of the Boxster series. It came in two trims: the base Boxster and the Boxster S. Powered by either a 2.7L flat-six engine delivering 217 horsepower (base model) or a 3.2L flat-six engine generating 250 horsepower (Boxster S), they were paired with a five-speed manual transmission with a six-speed option in the Boxster S, and an optional five-speed Tiptronic automatic. The vehicle utilized a rear-wheel-drive system. Safety features included dual front and side airbags, pretensioners for seatbelts, ABS brakes, and an optional stability control system. On the tech side, the Boxster offered a base four-speaker sound system with an option for six speakers and Porsche Communication Management System. It was admired for its handling, performance, and styling that echoed Porsche's iconic 550 Spyder.
