The 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 represents the first generation of Chevrolet's heavy-duty pickup. Available in a variety of trims--from the base edition to high-end LS and LT trims--it is powered by a range of engines that start with a 300-hp 6.0L V8 engine and culminate in an 8.1L V8, paired with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. The 2500 can be configured with both RWD and 4WD drivetrains. The 2001 model ushered in revised styling and improved interior quality compared to its predecessors. Amenities included chrome wheels, keyless entry, and CD player, which were uncommon at that time. On the safety front, it provided driver and front passenger airbags and 4-Wheel ABS. This model doesn't have today's commonly found tech including touchscreen infotainment or advanced driver-assist features.
