The 2001 Dodge Intrepid represents the second and final generation of this full-size sedan, released by Dodge. Two main trims were available: SE and ES, with an R/T performance variant added later in the model year. The standard engine was a 2.7-liter V6 producing 200 horsepower, paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. The ES trim featured a 3.2-liter V6 with 225 horsepower, whilst the R/T boasted a 3.5-liter V6 delivering 242 horsepower. In terms of technology, it had an AM/FM cassette player, and an optional upgrade to a CD player. Safety features included front airbags and optional anti-lock brakes, but it lacked some of the more advanced safety features common in later models. With reference to its design, the 2001 Intrepid had a unique, cab-forward design which offered generous interior space.
