2001 Ford Taurus Overview

The 2001 Ford Taurus marked the fourth generation of this model, popular for its combination of spaciousness, reliability, and comfort. The sedan was offered in both LX and SE trims, while the wagon was only available in SE trim. Under the hood, the Taurus came with either a 155 horsepower 3.0L Vulcan V6 engine or a 200 horsepower 3.0L Duratec V6, both coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission. With seating for six people, the Taurus offered considerable functionality with ample trunk space. Notable features included air conditioning, power mirrors, power window and locks, dual front airbags, and optional anti-lock brakes. The Taurus' interior emphasized functionality and comfort, with controls easy to reach and legible. However, there were no major updates in this model year, as 2000 saw a comprehensive redesign.
