2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD Overview

The 2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD forms part of the first-generation lineup of GMC's heavy-duty trucks. It is available with three engine options: a 6.0-liter V8 producing 300 hp, a 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 churning 300 hp, and a 8.1-liter V8 with an impressive output of 340 hp. All engines are mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The 2500HD offers RWD as standard and optional 4WD on some models. With its sturdy build, it boasts substantial towing capacities. Inside the truck, features are fairly basic by today's standards, providing the essentials without the flash. Safety was addressed with dual front airbags and ABS brakes.
