2001 Land Rover Discovery Overview

The 2001 Land Rover Discovery marked the final year of the Discovery Series II. This iconic British 4WD SUV is underpinned by a rigid body-on-frame chassis and powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 188 horsepower, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Known for its exceptional off-road capabilities, the Discovery features a dual-range transfer case and an optional Active Cornering Enhancement system. The 2001 model is also recognized by its updated face, featuring jewel-like round headlamps flanked by the signature ‘Alpine’ windows on the roof. Internally, it offered two trims - SD and SE, with comforts such as dual-zone climate control, leather seats, and a standard Harman Kardon audio system. The Discovery provides seating for seven with its optional rear jump seats.
