The 2001 Volkswagen New Beetle is part of the model's first generation, a fresh and modern take on the classic Beetle that was sold from 1998–2010. It's available in both coupe and convertible body styles and offers three engine variants: two gasoline engines, a 2.0L I4 with 115 horsepower, and a 1.8L turbocharged I4 with 150 horsepower, and a 1.9L TDI I4 diesel, an engine known for its longevity and fuel efficiency. Transmission options include a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic and the drivetrain is front wheel drive (FWD). On the inside, a standard monsoon sound system and optional heated seats add a touch of luxury. Safety features include anti-lock brakes and dual front airbags.
