The 2002 Chevrolet Suburban is part of the eight generation of this popular full-size SUV. It is renowned for its towing capability, spacious interior, and versatility. Two trims were available: the base LS and the more luxurious LT. The standard 5.3-liter V8 engine generates 285 hp, but a larger 8.1-liter V8, boasting 320 hp, is optional for increased towing capacity. A four-speed automatic transmission is standard, with a choice of rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. Safety features include front airbags and available side airbags. However, advanced safety features common today, such as emergency braking or lane-keeping assist, were not yet mainstream. For entertainment, the Suburban offered a stereo system with cassette and CD players.
