The 2002 Ford Thunderbird marked the return of the retro-styled, two-door convertible to the Ford lineup after a significant hiatus. Known for its throw-back design, it features rear-wheel drive and a 5-speed automatic transmission. It was powered by a 3.9L V8 engine capable of producing 252 horsepower. The standard convertible came with a removable hardtop, along with a soft top. Inside, it offered a balanced mix of modern convenience with classic touches. Dual-zone climate control, power tilt and telescopic steering, and a stereo with in-dash six-CD player were standard. While the Thunderbird did not offer many cutting-edge safety or technology features compared to the modern cars, it was well equipped for its time with features such as front and side airbags and ABS.
