The 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder belongs to the third generation of the Eclipse lineup. This compact sports convertible was available in two trims, GS and GT. GS was powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine offering 147 horsepower, while the GT came with a more robust 3.0-liter V6 that delivered 210 horsepower. Both engines were mated to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The Eclipse Spyder featured a power-operated soft top, alloy wheels, air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, and a CD/MP3 player as standard. A keyless entry system, leather seats, anti-lock brakes, and a premium Infinity audio system were available in higher trims or as options. Though not a leader in its class, the Eclipse Spyder was lauded for its sporty styling and spirited performance, especially in the GT guise.
