2004 Ford Freestar Overview

The 2004 Ford Freestar was part of the minivan's first-generation lineup. It was offered in four primary trims, including the S, SE, Sport, and Limited. All trims were powered by a 3.9L V6 engine producing 193 horsepower and a 4.2L V6 which delivered 201 horsepower in the SEL and Limited trims. Coupled to this was a 4-speed automatic transmission. Ford touted the van's safety features, like standard four-wheel antilock disc brakes and available traction control, and the Freestar also received five stars in NHTSA frontal crash tests. Inside, the van offered an optional interior dash for cargo and entertainment, six-speaker audio system, a CD player, and dual-zone air conditioning. Carrying up to seven passengers, this van was a great family car well within budget for many buyers.
