2004 Mazda MAZDASPEED MX-5 Overview

The 2004 Mazda MAZDASPEED MX-5 is part of the two-seat roadster's second generation. This performance-oriented version stands out in its class thanks to a turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-four sending 178 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via 6-speed manual transmission, making it the first factory-turbocharged Miata. Acceleration from 0-60 mph happens in just under 7 seconds, a notable improvement over the standard MX-5. Miata's signature agile handling is intensified, with a lowered, sport-tuned suspension and limited-slip differential. Beyond mechanical upgrades, MAZDASPEED adds 17-inch Racing Hart alloy wheels and a Bose audio system with a 6-CD changer. Standard safety includes dual front airbags and antilock brakes, however, modern-day assists are absent.
