The 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, part of the vehicle's fourth generation, is a compact car available as a sedan or wagon. Buyers had a choice of five trim levels: GL, GLS, GLI, GLT, and GLX. The base GL trim offers a 115-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or a 100-hp 1.9-liter TDI turbodiesel. Those opting for the GLS or GLT could also select a 170-hp 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or a 200-hp 2.8-liter V6. GLX was V6-only. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Inside, the Jetta treated drivers to high-quality materials, while offering safety features such as anti-lock brakes and side curtain airbags. The up-level trims featured sunroofs and leather upholstery.
